THE STRONG KOCH TEAM FOUGHT TOGETHER

SUCCESSFUL AS ONE

TO THE FINISH

Only top performances will secure us a
sustained competitive edge and only
those who are physically and mentally
fit can deliver them. The fact that our
team boasts not only a two-times
world champion
but also that every
single one of them has great potential
was impressively demonstrated at the
6th Münz Company Run, the largest
run event for firms, local authority
employees and businesses in Rhineland-
Palatinate, which was held in perfect weather
around the Electoral Palace in Koblenz on 6 June 2008.

The uniform appearance of the KOCH runners in company clothing specially produced for the competition said it all: just as we achieve our common goals in the firm by working closely together as a team, our "red squad" stuck together before, during and after the run too. They started as one and reached the finish together – with one exception: our avid endurance sportsman and ambitious racing cyclist Dominik Preugschat wanted to pit himself against the best and ran by himself as one of the first in the field.

Given the incredible conditions with a densely packed succession of over 10,000 runners winding their way through Koblenz along the 5-kilometre course, his time of 00:18:30 was a good result. A record: there have never been more runners on the road in the old part of the town and they were cheered along by at least as many spectators. We can't then really speak of proper competitive conditions; but that wasn't the main point of the event in any case. "Team spirit is the all-important factor for us and having fun, which we did when we were training for the run. There's the ambition to score sporting successes as well, of course", says Andreas Lehmler, project manager at KOCH.

With the Münz team having organised everything perfectly, the run started exactly on time at 6.00 p.m. and the hundreds of helpers also played a major part in ensuring that all the participants reached the finish without any mishaps and were then able to enjoy the largest company party in Rhineland-Palatinate. Our solo combatant was then also perfectly happy to join the team again :-).

Preparations for the 2009 Münz Company Run are already under way and the event has now become a firm fixture in the KOCH appointments diary.
