COMPLETE FILLING AND PACKAGING SYSTEMS

AT THE CENTRE OF INTENSIVE INTERCHANGE

A total of 1,009 exhibitors at the trade-fair duo Powtech/TechnoPharm 2008 in Nuremberg's Exhibition Centre from 30 September to 2 October had sent out their invitations – and 15,117 visitors from 70 countries happily accepted. The experts from the chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries – the sectors sending the greatest number of representatives – were extremely satisfied with the products they saw. Every third visitor had come from abroad and was therefore keen to make the most of the Nuremberg exhibitions for an exhaustive exchange of information and experiences. With its extremely wide range of products, exceptional synergies, highly qualified visitors and the unique atmosphere, the exhibition duo has confirmed its excellent reputation in Europe and around the world, even if the dates this time meant there was a slight drop in the number of visitors compared with last year.

"It was above all the quality and the international mix of the visitors that was outstanding", reports Jan-H. Röseler, manager of the firm KOCH Robotersysteme München GmbH & Co. KG. "It also made it clear again that plant engineering and construction have got fortune on their side. We didn't detect any economic slowdown but – as is normally the case for us at fairs – in fact reached the most important target groups, strengthened existing contacts and established promising new business connections", adds Röseler.

"All the sectors using mechanical processes, especially the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and health-food industries, see themselves faced with the global challenge of increasing efficiency. With over 30 years' experience in factory automation and thanks to the many successfully implemented turnkey KOCH filling, packaging and picking systems, we were able to show field-proven and at the same time future-proof solutions to the visitors coming to our stand", notes Ulli Koch, co-managing director together with his father Reinhard, of KOCH Industrieanlagen GmbH. "Our highly flexible robot systems, reliable KOCH control and software modules, coupling throughout, if required, of process control to superordinate systems, and the KOCH all-inclusive service enable us to guarantee our customers efficient complete systems boasting availabilities which are always in excess of 95%."

Reinhard Koch explains what it all boils down to: "The visitors were primarily interested in complete lines. Some 94 per cent of those coming to our stand are involved in procurement decisions. The exhaustive exchange of information as to how potential savings can be achieved with our filling and packaging technologies was a determining factor in helping them to prepare their investment decisions. We already know for certain that we were able to generate several new projects."
